The Batang-Semarang toll road is part of the Trans Java toll road connecting Pemalang-Batang toll road with the Semarang-Salatiga toll road with a total length of 75 km. Initially the 75 km toll road concession is owned by PT Marga Setia Puritama ( “MSP”). Then in 2008, PT Bakrie Toll Road took over 65% of MSP shares, but in December 2012, the shares were sold to MNC Group.
However, due to delays in the construction of toll roads by MSP, the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) has revoked Batang-Semarang toll road concession from MSP and re-tender process for
Batang-Semarang toll road. In April 2016, PT Jasamarga Semarang Batang (“JSB”) obtained 45 years of concession rights through a tender process.
Currently, 40.00% of JSB shares are owned by PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, 20% owned by PT Lintas Marga Jawa, while the rest is owned by Company of 40.00% shares.
